Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Last updated:
AlertPlumber does not sell your personal information.
AlertPlumber does not sell, rent, or trade personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration to third parties for their own marketing purposes. AlertPlumber does not participate in cross-context behavioral advertising auctions, and does not share personal information with data brokers.
What AlertPlumber DOES share, and why
When you submit a callback request, your contact information (ZIP, name, phone, service requested, urgency) is shared with the verified plumber matched to your ZIP code. This is necessary to fulfill your request — it is the entire point of submitting the form. This sharing is governed by the Privacy Policy Section 3 and the TCPA Consent disclosure.
This sharing is not a “sale” under California Civil Code § 1798.140(ad)(1) because:
- It is performed at your direct request when you submit the form.
- It is necessary to provide the service you asked for (matching with a plumber).
- AlertPlumber receives no monetary consideration from the matched plumber for sharing your contact info specifically.
How AlertPlumber earns money: the matched plumber pays AlertPlumber a referral fee tied to whether they receive a service inquiry through AlertPlumber. The fee is for the matching service, not for your data. The plumber would pay the same fee whether they received your data or someone else’s.
What about analytics?
AlertPlumber uses Google Analytics 4 with Consent Mode v2. Until you accept analytics cookies via the cookie banner, GA4 runs in “denied” mode (no personal identifiers transmitted). If you consent, GA4 sends pseudonymized visitor measurement data to Google. Google’s use of that data is governed by Google’s privacy terms; per Google’s GA4 standard configuration, that data is not used for advertising personalization unless you also use Google services that opt you in separately. AlertPlumber does not connect GA4 to ad platforms.
Submitting an opt-out / non-sale confirmation request
To confirm in writing that AlertPlumber has not sold your information, or to formally exercise the “Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing” under the California Consumer Privacy Act (Civil Code § 1798.120) and equivalent rights under Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and other state privacy laws:
- Email [email protected].
- Include the subject line: “Opt-out request — Do Not Sell”
- Include the email address you used to contact AlertPlumber, and (if applicable) the phone number you submitted on a callback form.
- State the action you want: confirmation of non-sale, deletion of records, or both.
AlertPlumber responds within 45 days of receipt, per CCPA timing requirements. If you submit through an authorized agent, they must provide proof of authorization before AlertPlumber acts on the request.
Verification
To prevent fraudulent requests, AlertPlumber verifies the requester’s identity by matching the email and/or phone number provided in the request against the contact information on file. Requests that cannot be verified will be acknowledged but not acted on; we will explain why and how to complete verification.
Browser-based opt-out signals
AlertPlumber respects the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal. When a visitor sends a GPC header, AlertPlumber treats that as an opt-out request for analytics cookies and any other cross-context use of data, even before the visitor interacts with the cookie banner.
Non-discrimination
AlertPlumber does not deny service, charge a different price, or provide a degraded service to any visitor for exercising their privacy rights. Submitting a Do Not Sell request will not affect your ability to use the AlertPlumber site or submit a callback request in the future.
